Questions for sensitive skin

Would you be able to provide an explanation regarding skin barriers and sensitive skin?
The lipid barrier is formed by the differentiation of the keratinocyte cell from which the lipid content of the epidermal body and formation of ceramides comes. These lipids are found in the intercellular spaces of the strateum corneum and they control the permeability, or barrier function, of the strateum corneum. Any reduction in the skins barrier function will make the skin more vulnerable to sensitizing substances.
